The pool’s dramatic negative edge makes it appear as if the water flows directly into the Sound. In reality, water flows over the edge, where it is caught by a recessed trough and filtered back into the pool.

Stainless-steel-framed LED lights are incorporated directly into the masonry, bathing the patio with soft light after the sun goes down.

The bluestone entry steps down to meet the driveway, which is edged with Belgian block curbing. The entry porch, stairs and drive are all heated, eliminating the need for shoveling and plowing in the winter months.
An expansive patio with a dramatic view over Long Island Sound is the centerpiece of this newly built waterfront property. Odd Job Landscaping constructed the patios, paths, stairs, and driveway; the stone veneer façade; an outdoor grilling station; and a stunning negative-edge pool that appears to merge seamlessly with the Sound. Materials were carefully selected to harmonize throughout the property: thermal top bluestone for the front entry and Chinese granite for the patio decking and pathways – all unified by square and rectangular, natural stone veneer masonry. A tempered glass railing with hidden fasteners borders the patio on either side of the pool – ensuring that nothing interferes with the home’s panoramic views of the Sound.
