This small space retreat shows what can be done on cozier properties, with only 1/3 acre of land to work with. Odd Job Landscaping designed and constructed the driveway, walkways, patios, fencing, lighting, landscape, and irrigation system. The oil and native stone gravel driveway is heated, so that shoveling and plowing are not necessary, as are the front walkway and the back patio. Arborvitae, birch trees, boxwoods, rhododendron, lavender, azaleas, cherry trees and paper bark maple fill the landscape with color. There are two patios in the back, an outside fireplace for entertaining, which steps down into another dining patio. Town regulations restricted the total area of hardscape, and this was the creative solution to working within the guidelines. An antique fountain adds ambiance to the dining area, and modest landscape lighting adds depth. A dark green cedar privacy fence creates isolation from the neighbors and blends in with the greenery to become almost invisible.
